NO MORE MUSHROOMING!
|
|
Composite decking was introduced to the building supply
industry as the ultimate “maintenance free” material. However, this product
needed a colored fastener to blend in with it. Dense materials caused a
“mushrooming” effect, which has become an accepted evil of this product line.
This is what SplitStop screws have successfully eliminated, proving itself to
be the best of its kind!

THE STAINLESS STEEL WOOD SCREW
SplitStop has redeveloped the stainless steel wood screw.
-
Unlike most wood screws that have a basic coarse thread SplitStop uses an
aggressive fine thread.
This thread design,
18 threads per inch, allows the
screw to drive into
the hardest wood with the least amount of resistance.
-
Stainless steel is a soft metal and when a harder wood product like mahogany,
is used the screw is actually fighting to drive into the product.
With the new split
stop design the fine thread drives with little resistance,
allowing the screw
to penetrate any wood far easier than standard screws.
|
 |
 |
-
This technology also allows a split stop screw to drive closer to the edge of a
deck board without causing splitting of the product.
The cutting nibs
under the head provides a clean finish and the star drive bit
engagement reduces
slipping between the screw and the drill, allowing the
maximum amount of
torque needed to drive a screw cleanly into the deck boards.
